Roadmap

We are very excited about the upcoming 1.0 NEXT release. We are working hard to meet the August release date.

NEXT 1.0 Features planned August

  1. Android & iPhone Mobile Phones support (for now).
  2. MVC pattern (Model-View-Controller) scaffolding allowing separation of concerns between UI and Data layer.
  3. Widgets and UI Catalog – List, TabBar, Navigation Bar, Buttons, Switch, Slider, Sliding Panel, Radio Button, Checkbox, Picker, Form Widgets, Progress Bar, Label, Image.
  4. Page Transitions: Slide, Fade, Pop, Swap, Cube(iPhone only).
  5. Native looking Scrollbar with physics similar to iPhone

NEXT 1.1 Release planned September

  1. Theming for Android & BlackBerry
  2. Widgets and UI Catalog supporting Tablets – iPad, Android, BlackBerry PlayBook
  3. Android WVGA (800×480) optimizations
  4. iOS retina display optimizations
  5. Declarative Layout with GWT(Google Web Kit) UiBinder.

NEXT 1.2 Release planned October

  1. Back Button and History Support.
  2. Phone Gap integration – allowing NEXT access to Phones/Tablet native API’s.

NEXT 1.3 Release planned November

  1. Windows Phone – Mango update.
  2. Palm webOS, BlackBerry OS6+, Samsung Bada, Nokia MeeGo support.
